This is very quick and simple to do and is a part of the regular upkeep of the treadmill. Adjusting the belt on your treadmill when new, or after a few months use may be necessary and is completely normal.
To re-centre the belt please follow the instructions below;
If the belt is positioned to the left-hand side you should:
-
Set the treadmill running at 6kph
-
Insert the Allen key into the left-hand rear adjustment bolt (as per manual)and turn the key clockwise 1/4 of a turn
-
Wait about 30 seconds to see how far the belt moves
-
Turn the key 1/4 clockwise again and wait approx 30 seconds again
Keep repeating until the belt settles in the middle of the running deck.
If the belt is running off to the right repeat the above procedure but insert the Allen key into the right-hand rear bolt adjuster rather than the left. Again the key should be turned clockwise.
It is important to turn the key gradually a 1/4 of a turn at a time as it takes time for the belt to react to the change. Turning it too far will result in the belt moving very quickly to the other side and possibly even start to rub against the edge of the rail, damaging the belt.
